The Cotswolds has excellent road communications being situated just off the "M4 corridor" with links to the M5 and M40. The area is within 2 hours of London, less than 1.5 hours from
Bristol and the Midlands is in easy reach within a 1-2 hour time frame.
From London, the M4 motorway provides access to the area, together with the M40 which links with A40 taking you directly into the Cotwolds. From the North and Midlands or South West, the M5 passes just to the west.

London's Heathrow Airport is situated alongside the M4 motorway which provides a link to the area. Visitors arriving at Gatwick can soon reach the M4 via the London Orbital. (M25 motorway)
An alternative is Bristol Airport . Being a small airport, visitors can expect to pass through fairly quickly and it is more convenient for those visiting the Cotswolds however links to public transport are not particularly convenient at present. Cardiff International is now a popular airport and Birmingham International Airport can be accessed by the M5 or M4. |
